St. Johnsbury Centre (Caledonia County) established July 8, 1840 There is no mention of this county cancel in the Slawson book (1969) but it was finally reported in Update #3 published in the Vermont Philatelist in November 1969 (page 5) along with a sketch. This may be the first time this cancel has been illustrated in color.
